20 Words with Jason Copland

Jason Copland, co-creator and artist of the web comic Kill All Monsters!, has been penciling and inking comics for several years now.  He penciled a Perhapanauts one-shot called Molly’s Story and a number of Murder Book short stories.  His webcomic Kill All Monsters! was recently published by Alterna Comics (reviewed here), he has contributed to Monkeybrain’s popular Masks & Mobsters series, the Intellectual Property backups in Image’s Five Ghosts and recently penciled issue #33 of the critically acclaimed Daredevil series by Mark Waid and Chris Samnee (Samnee is credited along with Waid as Storyteller on the issue).

ComicSpectrum: If I wasn’t an artist I’d probably be
Jason Copland: A musician.

CS: The one object I hate having to draw is
JC: Cars

CS: The most challenging thing I’ve ever had to draw was
JC: A cityscape in 3 point perspective.

CS: You’re having a dinner party. What 3 characters from comics would you want on the guest list?
JC: Cerebus, Big (from the Perhapanauts) and the Thing

CS: What is the strangest convention sketch request you have received?
JC: They have all been rather normal.
